தோட்டத்தில் வளர்க்கக்கூடிய செடிகள் - common indian garden plants

தோட்டத்தில் வளர்க்கக்கூடிய பொதுவான 10 செடிகள்

தோட்டம் வைப்பது என்பது ஒரு சிறந்த பொழுதுபோக்கு. அத்தகைய பொழுதுபோக்கு நிறைய பேருக்கு உள்ளது. தற்போது தோட்டம் இல்லாத வீடுகளை காண்பதே அரிது. ஏனெனில் நிறைய பேர் தோட்டம் வைப்பதில் மிகுந்த ஆர்வம் காண்பிக்கின்றனர். அவ்வாறு ஆர்வம் இருந்தால் மட்டும் போதாது, தோட்டத்தில் எந்த மாதிரியான செடிகளை வைக்கலாம், அதனை எவ்வாறு பராமரிக்க வேண்டும் என்பன பற்றி நன்கு தெரிந்திருக்க வேண்டும். அவ்வாறு தோட்டம் வைத்தப் பின் செடிகளை சரியாக பராமரிக்காவிட்டால், பின் அது வாடி இறந்துவிடும்.

மணி பிளாண்ட்
வீட்டில் எளிதில் வளர்க்கக்கூடிய செடிகளில் மணி பிளாண்ட் முக்கியமானது. அதற்கு இந்த செடியின் சிறிது தண்டுடன் கூடிய இலையை செடியிலோ அல்லது மண்ணிலோ புதைத்து வீட்டிற்குள்ளேயே வளர்க்கலாம், மேலும் இதற்கு அதிகப்படியான தண்ணீர், சூரிய வெளிச்சமில்லா இடத்திலும் வளர்க்க வேண்டும்.




செம்பருத்தி
இந்தியாவில் தோட்டத்தில் வளர்க்கும் பூச்செடிகளில் செம்பருத்தி பிரபலமானது. இதற்கும் செடியின் சிறு பகுதியை வைத்தாலே நன்கு எளிதில் வளரும். இந்த செடிக்கு நிறைய சூரியவெளிச்சமும், ஒரு நாளைக்கு இரண்டு முறை தண்ணீரும் ஊற்ற வேண்டும்.




ரோஜா செடி
இந்தியாவில் மிதமான குளிர்காலம் ஆரம்பிக்கும் போது வளரும் செடிகளில் சிறந்தது ரோஜா செடி. அதற்கு கோடைகாலம் முடியும் நேரத்தில், ரோஜா செடியின் தண்டை மண்ணில் புதைத்து, வளர்த்து வந்தால், ரோஜா செடியானது குளிர்காலத்தில் அழகாய் பூத்துக் குலுங்கும். இதுவும் இந்தியாவில் பெரும்பாலான வீடுகளில் வளர்க்கும் செடிகளுள் ஒன்று.




மல்லிகை
மல்லிகையானது கொடியானது நன்கு கொத்தாக, பச்சை நிற இலைகளின் இடையே ஆங்காங்கு வெள்ளை நிற பூக்கள் பூத்துக் குலுங்கும். இந்த கொடியை, நேரடியான சூரிய வெளிச்சம் இல்லாத இடத்தில் வைத்து, அளவான தண்ணீரை ஊற்றி வளர்த்தால் போதும்.




வாழைமரம்
பொதுவாக வாழைமரத்தை இந்தியாவில் ஒரு குழந்தை போன்று வளர்ப்பார்கள். மேலும் இந்த வாழைமரத்தை வீட்டில் வைப்பதால் நிறைய நன்மைகள் கிடைக்கும் என்பதாலேயே பலர் இதனை வீட்டில் வளர்க்கின்றனர்.

இந்தியாவின் பெரும்பாலான வீடுகளில் இந்த செடியை வீட்டின் முன் வைத்து,, வீட்டை அலங்கரிக்கும் விதமாக வளர்ப்பார்கள். இது ஒரு குறுந்தாவரம். இதற்கு அவ்வளவாக தண்ணீரானது தேவைப்படாது. இதன் பூக்களைப் பார்த்தாலே பேப்பர் போன்று தெரியும்.



சூரியகாந்தி
வருடம் முழுவதும் நன்கு வளரும் பூச்செடிகளில் சூரியகாந்தி முக்கியமானது. அதிலும் இந்த சூரியகாந்தி பூவின் நடுவே உள்ள விதைகளை தோட்டத்தில் போட்டால், அவை நன்கு செழித்து வளரும். மேலும் இதற்கு அவ்வப்போது தண்ணீர் ஊற்ற வேண்டும். அதற்காக அளவுக்கு அதிகமாக ஊற்றிவிட வேண்டாம்.




தாமரை
சில வீடுகளில் தாமரையை வளர்ப்பார்கள். இது எளிதில் வளரக்கூடியது. இது தண்ணீரில் வளரக்கூடிய ஒரு நீர்த்தாவரம்.




Top 10 Common Indian Garden Plants


Indian garden plants are rich in variety just like the diverse culture of our country. Usually, flora and fauna grow better in warm weathers than frosty climate. That is why there are many common garden plants that thrive in the hot tropical weather of India. Indian garden plants often have religious significance too. For example, the basil plant is considered holy by the Hindus. That is why it is a fairly common Indian garden plant that is seen in a majority of homes.

Most of the common garden plants grown in the Indian subcontinent are also flowering plants. Actually Indians have a huge fetish for blooming flowers and thus, you will see a fragrant garden in most of homes. Topical flowering plants are colourful and vibrant. Indian garden plants like warm weather and often bloom in the spring. We do not have a very cold winter in India; in fact most parts of the country have just 3 seasons namely summer, monsoons and spring. Here are some of the commonest Indian garden plants that are easy to grow under tropical conditions.

Basil or Tulsi: Basil is a one of the commonly grown garden plants in India due to its religious significance. It is usually planted as saplings and need plenty of water. It cannot stand direct sunlight but likes warm weather.

Marigold Plant: Marigold is also a flower that is used in pujas and religious ceremonies. This plant too is planted as a sapling. It needs humus-rich black soil and plenty of bright sunshine.

Money Plant: This is one of the easiest plants to grow at home. You just need a stalk of money plant and put it in water or soil. This is an indoor plant. It needs lots of moisture and almost no sunlight.

Hibiscus: Plant Hibiscus plants are very common in India and they too have religious significance in Hinduism. Saplings are widely available and the plant is easy to grow. This plant need lots of sunshine and water twice a day. You need to prune it often to keep it in a flowering condition.

Rose Plant: Rose plants are best for the light winters in India. You must plant them at the end of summer and allow them to get the benefit of the Indian monsoons. Come winter, roses will bloom and make your garden fragrant.

Night Jasmine: Jasmine can be planted as a tree or plant. Jasmine is a fussy plant. It likes indirect sunlight and moderate watering.

Plantain Plant: Plantain basically means banana plant. You would be surprised to know that banana plants can be grown in decorative ways too. They propagate through the stem and flower just once in their lifetime.

Bougainvillea: Bougainvillea is a climber plant. It grows like a bush on top of walls and gates. This flowering shrub does not need too much water or care. It grows at a breakneck speed and can soon turn wild. So you need to prune your bougainvillea very often.

Sunflower: For a country that gets sunshine throughout the year, sunflowers are the ideal garden plant. Sunflowers are grown from seeds as they sprout easily. You need to water your sunflower generously but not too much. These plants have weak stems and thus sometimes need support from stakes.

Fern: The warm weather in India supports ferns very well. We can see many kinds of ferns in India but the commonest is oriental water fern.

Lotus: The lotus is a flower that is considered a sign of purity in India. It is used in the pujas of Goddesses. Lotus is fairly easily to grow and most often grows in the wild. All you need to grow lotus is a pool of water.
